The second website I chose is that of Anton Emdin http://www.antonemdin.com/ 21/05/12, a contemporary Australian comic artist. Anton uses his website as a portfolio showing his different range of skills as illustrator. I usually don’t like the website with black background but I suppose that a dark background it is good to emphasize the drawings.
For the third assignment we had to create a personal website
I chose two different websites to look at: the website of Billy Connolly http://www.billyconnolly.com/ 24/05/12 the well known Scottish stand comedian.
I choose it because I like interactive websites, I think they are enjoyable to look at and eye catchy. I like Billy Connolly’s website for the unusual ‘photo manipulation ‘ they did, using a image of the actor superimposed on a drawn background.
The next assignment for the course of Digital Image 2, held by Tony, was to create a character using computer 3D software, Maya. I never used this program before, so earlier than starting working I had to research some tutorials, in order to learn how to use the software. Unfortunately none of the tutorials I found was helpful.
I decided to give it a try; I started by drawing geometric forms to understand how the software worked. After initial attempts, I did a quick sketch using spheres as basic elements.
I divided a sphere in four parts and I took out one of the sections.
With the sculpt tool I modelled it to create a face. Then I copied and pasted it onto the other 4 sections of the sphere obtaining a sphere with 4 faces.
Following the instruction given by the tutor I created a background, a garden, using Photoshop, then I transferred the file in the 3D program. Using the axis x and y I was able to create a tri-dimensional background.
